I’ve been involved in podcasting for a somewhat gobsmacking 10+ years.
My first experience was pushing for the creation of and then often guesting on (at least in the early years) the Richmond Theatre Critics Circle podcast, called Curtain Call.
I then produced and hosted the Firehouse Forum podcast in 2017-18.
My friend, Grace Todd, and I started a podcast production company, TimberTodd Pods, that we hope would be a podcasting juggernaut. It didn’t end up being anything close to that but at least two of the projects we started are still ongoing.
First, we co-hosted Convince Me I Care which was a lot of fun but also, as we eventually found out, it was hard to figure out who exactly we were making it for.
Grace continues to do Didn’t Read It, which is a super-fun hang where Grace talks to people about classic literature. She has been nice enough to have me on as a guest to talk about Waiting for Godot and Murderer.
My ongoing project is now Chasing Phantom, the podcast about Broadway’s longest running shows. I feature conversations about shows that have had more than 1,000 performances on Broadway so will ultimately have at least 125 episodes or so!
